Stages of Treating Genetic Venous Insufficiency

Stage 1: Radiofrequency Ablation is to treat the Saphenous Vein(s) that have reflux noted at your New Patient Diagnostic Ultrasound and Consultation. Treating the Saphenous Vein(s) that have reflux is treating the main source of the problem. 

Stage 2: Varithena or Ultrasound Guided Foam Sclerotherapy is to treat the branch vessels and/ or areas of the main vessels that are unable to be treated by Radiofrequency Ablation. Branch vessels are vessels that the main pressure sources (the Saphenous Vein(s)) have created over the years. Stage 2 treatment plan will be determined at your completion ultrasound after the first treatment plan (stage 1) is completed. 

Stage 3: Cosmetic Spider Vein Sclerotherapy is to treat the spider vein(s) and reticular vein(s) that have been created from the pressure inside your leg(s). This is completely optional and cosmetic. Insurance will not cover cosmetic spider vein treatment(s).
